ART/FORM was a regular monthly gathering of artists of all mediums at Christ Church. Though we no longer meet in this format, this page has been preserved as an archive of our activities.

Our time together was spent primarily in one of two ways:

  • Sharing ART: artists had regular opportunities to share their work, allowing them to both learn how to speak about their art, and how to give and receive feedback
  • Being FORMED: the continued growth and maturing of artists’ hearts and minds is as important as growing in skill and craft; to that end, we regularly read books and essays, watched videos, brought in guest speakers, and engaged in thoughtful discussion.

Spring 2020 Calendar

January 10 / FORM
We’ll be discussing three perspectives on our calling as Christian artists – from Andrew Peterson, Steven Garber, and Madeleine L’Engle.

February 14 / Spring Film Night
Many Beautiful Things: The Life and Vision of Lilias Trotter is the true story of a woman in Victorian England “who defied all norms by winning the favor of England’s top art critic, John Ruskin. But with her legacy on the line, Lilias made a stunning decision that bids us to question the limits of sacrifice.”

March 13 / ART
Thomas Yee, composer (pictured right), and Billy Hollis, visual artist, will share their work with us, with time afterward for Q&A.

April 10 (Good Friday)
No meeting this month because of Good Friday.

May 8 / Special Event: Tesoros Bellos  Cancelled due to Covid-19
Mark your calendars for a magical evening of “Tesoros Bellos” (beautiful treasures).  Featuring the work of various performing artists and writers from our Christ Church community, donations will be taken at the door and all proceeds will go to support our mission in Guatemala.
