ART/ Meg Engelhart, performance artist; and Katie Fox, writer (pictured right), will share their work with us, with time afterward for Q&A

FORM/ Rachel Spies will lead us in a guided session and workshop on breaking through creative blocks, how to notice more intentionally, and how to ask meaningful questions of your work. The focus is on generating content, and artists of differing mediums will find it useful.

April 12
ART/ Jenifer Thyssen, soprano (pictured right); and Ben Johnson, pianist and composer; will share their work and experience with us, with time afterward for Q&A

May 10
FORM/ Spring Film Night: Loving Vincent, about the life of Vincent Van Gogh – the world’s first fully painted feature film.

June 14
ART/ Kit Johnson, architect and visual artist (pictured right), will share his “mid-life manifesto”; and Rachel Means, installation artist, will share her work, with time afterward for Q&A

We’ll be taking a break. No meeting in July.

August 9
For the summer, we’ll be reading Makoto Fujimura’s Culture Care. Grab a copy early in the summer and come ready to discuss it on August 9th, as we wrap up the first year of  ART/FORM!

September 13
FORM/ We’ll be discussing an article by Austin Kleon, titled “The Hard Way.” We’ll have copies available to read when you arrive.

October 11
ART/ Artist and historian, Cheryl Kaufman, will give us a new perspective on the Notre Dame fire of April 15, 2019, and its cultural significance. She will also be sharing her art, which is inspired by medieval Europe.

November 8
FORM/ We’ll be watching a short video together about Stephen Mason (of Jars of Clay) and his vocational journey, and discuss what his insights mean for us as artists and followers of Christ.

December 13
ART/ Join us for an evening of Christmas gift-making using linocut printing. Artist Amy McCullough Mosley will lead us in linocut printing on paper, fabric, and other materials. Carve your own block or print a pre-cut design. Hot cocoa and other holiday treats will be served.
