The East Austin Studio Tour (EAST) is a free, annual, city-wide, self‑guided art event spanning two weekends in November. EAST provides opportunities for the public to meet the artists of Austin and take in their work.
Christ Church is excited to participate in EAST for the sixth year in a row; this year we will have 20 artists showing their work in the Parish Hall and the courtyard. EAST will take place on Nov 11, 12 and Nov 18, 19 from 12:00pm – 6:00pm each day.
EAST offers us a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate hospitality, generosity, and our love of beauty, but we cannot do it without your help. There are many ways that you can help with EAST, from bringing snacks to welcoming visitors and more. If you are interested in serving at EAST, read on for more information and to sign up.
(1) Greeters / Welcomers
As a greeter, you will welcome guests, hand out brochures about our exhibition, guide people to refreshments or restrooms, etc. Time slots are set up in two-hour blocks throughout the two weekends. Want more info or ready to sign up? Visit the sign-up link here.
(2) Refreshments for Visitors
As part of our commitment to hospitality, we want to provide simple, delicious snacks for our visitors, such as cookies, coffee, and sparkling water. If you love to bake, or don’t mind picking up a few dozen cookies from a local bakery, or a few cartons of bubbly water, then this is the volunteer option for you. Ready to sign up? (3) Refreshments for the Artists
The artists who participate in the East Austin Studio Tour will be at Christ Church all day, and they will need sustenance. (5) EAST Tour Leaders
As a tour leader, you will take a small group of folks from Christ Church out into the city to visit EAST stops together. No need to be an artist – anyone who wants to go or who supports the arts can lead these groups. You will get to see the work of other artists in the city and will also represent Christ Church, possibly by inviting people to our exhibit, as well (when and if appropriate).
